Safety Precautions When Using a Towing Rope
The following are the safety measures that must be observed whenever you are using a towing rope:

• Never use a towing rope on a vehicle that exceeds the maximum weight that a towing rope can hold. It may not be able to withstand the weight and may end up breaking.
• A towing rope should only be used to tow a vehicle on a flat road, not to pull out a vehicle that is stuck. Always ensure that you use the rope for the right purposes to portray a professional image when working.
• Ensure that you use a towing rope that has loop ends that have been sewn, not those that have metal fittings as these could easily damage the surface of the vehicle.
• Do not mix the use of a recovery strap with a cable, chain, or any other device.
• When fixing the towing rope to the vehicle, ensure that you do not fix it around a sharp object that would cause damage to the rope, making it break.
• Never carry out a vehicle recovery using a towing rope that has been through intense exposure to the sun as it could have been weakened and may not be able to hold its normal weight. If you must use it, have it inspected to ensure that it will be safe for use.

Whenever you are using a towing rope, ensure that you have covered it with a blanket which will help in the absorption of energy in case the rope breaks. This will give you enough time to pull over before causing any damage.
You should always buy a towing rope that has a storage bag so that any time it is not being used, it is kept away from sunlight and other weather conditions that will easily break it.
